Guth Mediations, Inc. was formed in 2004 after Greg retired from active practice. GMI provides alternative dispute resolution services throughout Illinois. GMI’s core business is personal injury mediation. Other areas of mediation include: commercial, civil rights, and discrimination.
GMI also provides arbitration services as a single arbitrator or as the neutral arbitrator in three-person panels.
Greg was licensed to practice in Illinois in 1976. He was a personal injury plaintiff attorney in Chicago for seven years and a medical malpractice defense attorney in Rockford for over 20 years. He retired from active practice in 2004 when he and his wife, Misha, formed GMI.
Greg was trained as a mediator in 1994, having been selected for the second group trained under the auspices of the Illinois Supreme Court. Present for Greg’s fifth mediation was Chief Justice Michael Bilandic and other dignitaries.
In 2003, Greg was selected as a Leading Lawyer in four different areas of practice: medical malpractice, products liability, general defense, and alternative dispute resolute.
Since 1994, Greg has mediated approximately 2,500 cases venued in over 20 counties in Illinois. His mediation success rate is approximately 81%.
Misha was a legal secretary and office manager for over 20 years. She graduated from Rockford University in 2004 with a degree in Business Management which she put to use immediately by managing the day-to-day operations of GMI.
